Plan DigiLocker Certificate Issuance for a University
Plan a university's DigiLocker issuer workflow from authoritative records to certificate delivery. Review identifiers, retrieval, corrections, and access.
Start DigiLocker issuance with the university's authoritative award record. Assign an owner who can approve issuance, correct errors, and investigate a student's missing document.
The DigiLocker issuer guide describes an issuer repository and a Pull URI request. The request lets a student locate a document using identifiers defined by the issuer. NAD also provides an institutional route for managing academic awards. Confirm which route the institution is approved to use. DigiLocker issuer integration NAD institutional manual.
Map the award lifecycle
| Stage | University decision | Evidence to preserve |
|---|---|---|
| Award approval | Registrar confirms the final result | Authoritative record and approval |
| Record mapping | Team maps the award to the required format | Template revision and mapping review |
| Publication | Authorised operator releases the record | Release reference and time |
| Retrieval | Service resolves the requested record | Bounded success or failure |
| Correction | Registrar approves a change | Previous record and reason for correction |
| Support | Staff investigate a student report | Request reference and action taken |
Determine the official correction procedure before the first release. A student's profile update and an academic award correction can require different owners.
Design lookup around the approved identifiers
Use the fields permitted by the approved contract. A university might need an award identifier or a combination of student and exam information. Do not infer the production schema from another institution's public example.
In a synthetic case, two programmes use the same local roll number. The lookup needs enough approved context to resolve the right award. If the request remains ambiguous, return the documented failure outcome and route the case for review.
Check the approved issuer specification and certificate format for response structure and signing requirements. Use the current partner documentation for executable implementation. DigiLocker partner resource centre
Rehearse release and correction
- Create a synthetic award in the test repository.
- Check that the approved lookup identifies the correct record.
- Verify the required document format and signing behaviour.
- Try a request with missing or conflicting identifiers.
- Run the approved correction procedure.
- Give support a reference they can use to trace the outcome.
Include an access review for university staff. Define who can approve and publish a batch. Keep award details out of general monitoring logs.
